The Skagit Valley Connections Conference...... Making a difference! We know parents and early care and education professionals want to support the healthy growth and development of young children. In its 20th year of operation, the Skagit Valley Connections Conference plays a critical role in helping parents and professionals explore parenting and Early Childhood Education topics in order to significantly improve children’s opportunities to live fulfilling lives. The one-of-a-kind event will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Skagit Valley College and will feature more than 40 speakers. on every aspect of Early Childhood Education. Curtis Zimmerman, noted author and speaker, will keynote the annual conference. Mr. Zimmerman will speak on the important topic of the critical influence early childhood educators have on young children and their families. Other important topics, presented at the conference will include: understanding the unique strengths and needs of each family, diversity, resources for children with special needs, nutrition, health and safety, and fun activities to do with infant, toddler, preschool, and school-aged children. Sessions are offered in both English and Spanish. Opportunities to earn college credit from Skagit Valley College Early Childhood Education Department, Clock Hours through ESD 189, and S.T.A.R.S. continuing education hours are available. The conference is open to the public. Parents, foster parents, grandparents, teachers, para-professionals and child care providers are encouraged to attend. Highlights - Saturday, March 20, 2010
